The identification method of SMD Inductor
The identification method of SMD inductance is as follows.
1) From the appearance, such as a square or round inductor with a magnetic core, slightly larger volume, can see the core and coil.
2) Some patch inductors are the same as patch resistors in appearance, but there is no number and letter mark, only a small circle mark, meaning inductive element.
3) The serial number of components in the circuit is often marked with the word L, such as "L1", "DL1" and so on.
4) Inductance is marked, such as 100.
5) The AC resistance of an ideal inductor is large, while the DC resistance is zero. The measured resistance value of inductance element is very small, the resistance value is close to zero ohm. From 3), 4), 5), with observation and measurement (in the circuit position and function), can distinguish the component is patch resistance or patch inductance, and determine the inductance component.
6) Remove the component from the circuit and measure its inductance with a special inductance tester.
