Usage of current transformers
A transformer is a device that converts voltage or current proportionally. The function of the transformer is to convert high voltage or high current into standard low voltage (100V) or standard low current (5A or 1A, both referring to the rated value), so as to achieve the standardization and miniaturization of measuring instruments, protection equipment and automatic control equipment.
Three basic types of current transformer
Wound Current Transformer – The transformers primary winding is physically connected in series with the conductor that carries the measured current flowing in the circuit. The magnitude of the secondary current is dependent on the turns ratio of the transformer.

Motor test measurements often require ammeters to be equipped with multiple shunts to solve the problem of ensuring the required measurement accuracy over a larger measurement range.
Three key parameters of the shunt
The shunt used in the power battery PACK is essentially a resistor to detect the current value flowing. Since the current value is not easy to monitor, most of them are converted into voltage at present, that is, when the current passes, the resistor generates a voltage drop, and the voltage value is detected to calculate the passed current value, which is based on U=IR.

Application of current transformers
The wiring of the current transformer should follow the series principle: that is, the primary winding should be connected in series with the circuit under test, while the secondary winding should be connected in series with all instrument loads.
If the main wiring is single busbar, single busbar segment, double busbar, etc., install three-phase voltage transformer on the busbar; when there is power on its outlet, it needs to be reclosed to check the synchronization or no voltage, and it needs to be parallel in the same period. Single-phase or two-phase voltage transformers should be installed on the line side.
