Saturation of the current transformer
As we mentioned earlier, errors of the CT are mainly caused by the field current Ie. Due to the large excitation impedance in normal operation, Ie is small, so that this error can be ignored. However, when the CT is saturated, the more serious the saturation degree is, the smaller the excitation impedance is and the greatly increased excitation current makes the error of the CT multiply and affects the correct operation of the protection.

What is a Smart Meter?
Smart meter is a metering device that can measure electricity remotely through RS485 data transmission and terminal computer software management. Free automatic power off, timed power off, student apartment malignant load identification and other functions.
Potential transformer or PT can have the same construction as any normal transformer. It has primary & secondary winding. The number of turns in primary windings is greater than the number of turns in the secondary winding because it is a step-down transformer.
Usage of current transformers
A transformer is a device that converts voltage or current proportionally. The function of the transformer is to convert high voltage or high current into standard low voltage (100V) or standard low current (5A or 1A, both referring to the rated value), so as to achieve the standardization and miniaturization of measuring instruments, protection equipment and automatic control equipment.
Three basic types of current transformer
Wound Current Transformer – The transformers primary winding is physically connected in series with the conductor that carries the measured current flowing in the circuit. The magnitude of the secondary current is dependent on the turns ratio of the transformer.

Three key parameters of the shunt
The shunt used in the power battery PACK is essentially a resistor to detect the current value flowing. Since the current value is not easy to monitor, most of them are converted into voltage at present, that is, when the current passes, the resistor generates a voltage drop, and the voltage value is detected to calculate the passed current value, which is based on U=IR.
